I love seeing new words and learning their specific definition. There are many words I've never seen before, but I love that. I don't disagree because honestly it goes over my head too. I think folks that complain about the flowery language are actually complaining about how the vocabulary level is way over their heads. The words are deliberate and not just fluff you see so commonly from articles or whatever. People talk about flowery language and how it obfuscates messages, but I think Jason writes in a way that contradicts that.
I feel like he could write about anything and his diction alone would captivate me regardless of the subject. I saw a blogpost of sorts from Jason recently and it reaffirmed to me just how incredible he is at writing. what is it that you love about the game and perhaps whats a good story you have with your experience in this game? That being said, I know the depths to this game has been nowhere near reached for me (and I've learned what's possible in Seth's review on YouTube and he even said that he hasn't scratched the surface). I guess this game has a way of enticing you to feed the imagination. I've played very little of the classics like NetHack and ADOM (mostly ADOM because graphics). Yes I am very much a fan of roguelikes as well but when it comes to Traditional Roguelikes. The longest I've survived was probably me getting to level 5 only to die. Its got the worst graphics but something about it keeps me going back to it. I don't understand what it is about the game but I love it. My runs consist of going to Red Rock (sometimes dying to baboons or mostly) and maybe once I completed that one critter quest. I don't know if its because it's the closest I'll get to a good science fantasy game especially with one that has a lot of depth that I don't even understand. I play maybe 2-3 runs and then I'll just hop onto another game. I won't lie I'm not even that deep in this game.
